Blossom De-Alcoholised dry White wine (Sauvignon Blanc)
The inspiration behind creating a de-alcoholised brand in both the local and international market, came one night after such a fabulous and festive evening in a beautiful rose garden. We danced and laughed the night away with spritzers made from grape juice! I thought to myself.. We had such a good time and I felt alive and energised the next morning, ready for my day, without the heaviness I would normally experience after one glass too many! Of course now we have an excuse to have a celebration any time of the day, any day of the week and be fully present and alive! Here, the magic is felt by all those who experience these beautiful floral wines with a floral and fruity palet. You may be asking yourself: What does de-alcoholised mean? Simply put, the alcohol is removed from the finished wine by using technology where the wine is put through a spinning cone, which sends the wine through different membranes at high revolution, removing the alcohol. This beverage contains no additions and is chemical free. The palate is delicate and generous and alive, well balanced and harmonious. So why not give it a try? Blossom Sauvignon Blanc De-Alcoholised is a product of varietals where the focus is on fruit driven, varietal true, value for money products. The grapes were harvested from dryland farmed vineyards in Darling, where the vines are not trellised and planted as bush vines. IN THE VINEYARD Terroir: Vineyards strategically planted on South-West facing slopes to capture cool breezes from the Atlantic Ocean and cold Benguela current. Deep soils from decomposed granite, clay rich, with good drainage. Vineyard type : Bush Vine, no irrigation Yield : 3-4 t/ha Balling at Harvest : 21-22°B WINEMAKING Crush and destalk, 14 days fermentation at 14-15°C. Grapes and juice handled reductively to prevent oxidation and lock in fruitiness. Maturation: Left on lees for 2 months to add complexity. The wine is then De-Alcoholised by way of a gently spun cone technology. This is done under vacuum and at low temperature to ensure that the product retains its distinctive wine body, colour and flavour. WINEMAKER’S COMMENTS A light yellow with green tint in colour, flavours of ripe tropical fruit, yellow peaches and gooseberries complimented by a fresh acidity and lingering finish. FOOD RECOMMENDATION This wine will pair well with most seafood, but I think will go particularly well with some fresh mussels or oysters! Low in calories and vegan-friendy.
